As the concert not be at SWS, parents are asked to drop off their students at Glenmore Christian Academy at the following times, in order to give students time to warm up and familiarize themselves with the stage and seating arrangements. Doors to the GCA Theatre will open for general admission at 6:30 pm.

Dress Rehearsal: There will be extra practices during the school day on Wednesday, December 7th, and a final dress rehearsal for the entire school on the afternoon of the 7th, in the SWS main gym. Please ensure your student has their instrument and music at the school that day. Wearing of the band uniform for the dress rehearsal is not required.
Attendance: as per the Student Handbook found on the SWS Music Blog (swsmusicblog.wordpress.com), attendance at concerts is mandatory for the benefit of the student and the entire band. If your student is ill or otherwise not able to attend, please advise Mrs. Bolen immediately at jcbolen@cbe.ab.ca.
Uniforms: students are reminded to wear black bottoms (pants, or skirts and tights), black socks and shoes, and the SWS Music shirts on the night of the concert.
Snacks for Grade 8/9: as the grade 8’s and 9’s will be arriving early at GCA, an extra packed snack or sandwich would likely be appreciated by your student. Water bottles are also encouraged.
Tickets Sold at the Door: tickets will also be available for sale the night of the concert, cash only. The cost is the same as purchasing online: $10 for adults, $3 for ages 5 to 17, and free for ages 4 and under. SWS students can also enter for free. SWS Band and Choir students do NOT require a ticket. Doors to the GCA Theatre will open at 6:30 pm.
Volunteers: parental assistance is required to help sell tickets at the door, ticket collection at the GCA Theatre entrance, and supervision of the sale of 50/50 tickets. Please contact either Jackie Prokop at Jackie,Prokop@shaw.ca, or Elaine Gidluck at elaine@gidluck.ca, to help with this event.
General Expectations: as per the Student Handbook found on the SWS Music Blog (swsmusicblog.wordpress.com), students are expected to have the same courtesy and consideration for the venue and their fellow performers as they do at school.
Should you have any further questions or concerns, please contact SWS Band and Music Director Jaime Cotterall-Bolen at jcbolen@cbe.ab.ca, or SWS Principal Darrin Fisher at DKFisher@cbe.ab.ca.
Thank you for supporting your children in their Fine Arts education, and we look forward to seeing you at the concert!
