For Parents Hankering To Play An Instrument: Read On!

Greetings from Westwinds Music Society!

As you start up your newest school year, Westwinds would like to introduce ourselves to you and the parents of your students. We are a non-profit adult music education society, offering education and performance opportunities in choir, concert band, jazz band, and percussion for all levels (including those who have never had any music experience).

As a music educator, you know the value of music education, but many parents may not realize the work and challenges involved as their children learn. Parents who become involved themselves in a music program such as ours are more likely to be more supportive of their children in their music education. And, as their child learns, it may spark an interest in the parent to learn or join, but they aren’t aware that an organization such as ours exists.

We’d like to enlist your support for our organization by letting your band and choir parents know about our opportunities. We have posters we can give you to put up in your band room and staff room; brochures that can be handed out to interested parents (or teachers you work with), or digital files that could be linked to your website or sent out with a music parent newsletter. I have attached a digital copy of our poster and an information sheet on Westwinds. In addition, we would like to make you aware of our open house which will be held at William Aberhart High School on September 13, 2017 at 7:00 pm.

We thank you in advance for your assistance in creating awareness of our wonderful adult music program. Feel free to contact us with any questions or comments.

Regards,

Susan Eubank, Albert Louie, and P-J Harder
