I hope that you have all been doing well during this time of distance learning. We are looking ahead and planning for September, hoping that everything is business as usual. We’ll be adapting as necessary, but in the meantime we need to make sure that every student has an instrument in the fall.
For students entering grades 6 and 7, or who are new to the school, you will be receiving a paper packet of information in the first week of June for the band program, instrument selection and instrument registration. Instrument registration can be done digitally on the tabs on the side of the page, or by filling out the paper copies you were sent. For students entering grades 8 and 9, information will be sent by email at the end of May. Instrument rentals will be done by registering on this blog or by emailing Mrs. Smith.
I’ve been part of many discussions with other band teachers about how things may look in September. We’re coming up with plans to make sure that no matter what learning looks like in the fall, we are able to help our students make music while keeping everyone safe and healthy. Updates will be sent out as we find out what the plans are for schools and students. In the meantime, if you’d like some enrichment activities for your children, have them check out my D2L shells or my google classrooms. If you have any questions, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to making beautiful music in the fall!
