The music program at SWS is big, involved, and expensive…and that’s where and why we come in! The SWSBA exists to support our school music director in any way we can to help the music program run smoothly. Basically, we volunteer, and we fundraise. All parents/guardians of music students at SWS are automatically members of the SWSBA.
We have an executive, bylaws, and we hold meetings with the general membership several times throughout the year, usually more frequently around big events.
While regular band classes aren’t being held in the 2020/21 school year, the SWSBA is still active (though far less busy than in a regular year) because we have financial responsibilities. We continue to incur expenses as we support SWS music, and are happy we’re able to do some limited fundraising this year. We’ll keep things going so when band is back in all its glory we are able to hit the ground running.
